CD or DVD?
The deposition is completed and the videographer turns to you and asks if you want the video on CD or DVD. What he/she really wants to know is what format you want the deposition in and the answer to that depends on what you intend to do with it. If your intention is to just view the deposition and take notes then an authored DVD is probably the way to go since that format will allow the greatest picture resolution and it can be played on either a computer or a standard DVD player. On the other hand you may want to have the video synchronized with the transcript and/or intend to have portions (called clips) of the video extracted and used in a trial presentation program. In that case you will want the video converted to Mpeg1 because it is a more versatile format to work with and since it takes up less space it is normally delivered on CD.
